Every month we compile a list of students and schools doing great things across our community.  We have so many talented students in our area.  Greater Pensacola Parents joins with these families and schools to celebrate their achievements!

Pine Meadow Elementary Fifth Graders Explore Roy Hyatt Science Environmental Center

Fifth grade students from Pine Meadow Elementary School recently enjoyed a visit to the Roy Hyatt Environmental Center in Cantonment. The Escambia County School District operates the Roy Hyatt Environmental Center.

Anderson Subaru Gives $5,000 Donation

When teachers at Sherwood Elementary School gathered for what they thought was a routine back-to-school luncheon, they got the surprise of their academic year. Anderson Subaru presented the school with a $5,000 donation plus essential classroom supplies, supporting over 210 students across 10 classrooms.
The donation is part of Subaru’s nationwide Loves Learning initiative, partnered with AdoptAClassroom.org. This marks the fourth consecutive year Anderson Subaru has “adopted” classrooms at Sherwood Elementary, demonstrating a sustained commitment to local education.
Beyond education, Anderson Subaru extends its community support to organizations like Feeding the Gulf Coast, Pensacola Breast Cancer Association, and Phoenix Rising Animal Rescue.
Through its five-year partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org, Subaru has become the organization’s largest corporate sponsor, supporting more than 950,000 students at high-need schools nationwide by 2025’s end.

Construction Career Days Scholarships

The Escambia County School Board recently honored students who received 2025 Northwest Florida Construction Career Days scholarships. Over 1,300 high school students from across the area attended the event last April. Seniors who attended in-person or virtually were eligible to receive a portion of up to $50,000 in scholarship funds.
Escambia County recipients included:
Northview High School: Jack Boutwell, Tyler Gilmore, Markavia Johnson, Jaquan Richardson, Jackson Simmons
Tate High School: Alec Clarke, Miller Richards, Randy Williams
West Florida High School: Randelaysia Grier, Keith Washington
Students had the opportunity to operate heavy equipment and learn about bridge inspections, paving, concrete, traffic control, engineering, and more. Students were also introduced to the large number of career paths available in the transportation, structural, engineering, and building industries, and were able to interact with representatives from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), as well as various engineering firms, and contractors looking to hire in the Northwest Florida area.

Montessori School Pensacola Volunteers at Greater Gulf Coast Arts Festival

Each year, the Children’s Arts Festival at the Greater Gulf Coast Arts Festival opens on Friday for Very Special Arts Day, welcoming special needs students from Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. Montessori School of Pensacola Middle School students have the privilege of volunteering throughout the weekend, beginning with this special day. This meaningful experience reinforces MSP’s commitment to nurturing Responsible, Service-Minded Citizens, a hallmark of our Portrait of a Graduate.

Aletheia Christian Academy Fundraiser

Aletheia Christian Academy students are in the middle of their biggest fundraiser of the year-Feed the Need. They will pack 15,000 meals for those in need. The first milestone of the campaign was to have 75% of school families register, and thanks to the support of the community, that goal was quickly reached. As a fun reward, students earned a brand-new gaga pit for recess and brain breaks. The pit has been a huge hit, bringing friendly competition to the school day.

Veterans Day Parade at Kingsfield

Kingsfield held it annual Veterans Day Parade on Tuesday, November 4. Students, teachers, and staff celebrated the veterans’ service while singing and waving flags. All participants were encouraged to wear patriotic colors or camouflage. This event promotes patriotism and provides a meaningful way for students to share stories of military service, strengthening community spirit and fostering a deep appreciation for veterans.

Catholic High School Celebrates Homecoming

On October 24, Pensacola Catholic High School began its 2025 Homecoming weekend, which included various fun dress up days leading up to the Homecoming Football game that night. Parents and alumni enjoyed a wonderful Tailgate meal and entertainment hosted by the PTA and coordinated by Christy Fayard and Nina Blay. During halftime, the following Senior students were recognized during the Homecoming Court presentation – Maids: Ella Adams, Abi Barzacchini, Lily Day, Jillian Lacour, Lennon Lussane, Gabby Moseley, Meredith Moulton, Katie Overholtz, Avery Taylor, Alana Woodward and Gents: Ben Bates, Robert Brown, Dade Cutter, Colton Guillot, Caden Jasso, John Lagergren, Reed Rhodes, Nick Shashaty, Mac Sherrill, and Jackson Whittington. Congratulations to Caden Jasso and Lennon Lusane, who were crowned King and Queen. The Crusaders returned to the field after halftime to win the game and the festivities ended with students returning to campus on Saturday evening, October 25, to participate in the Homecoming Dance.

Tate High Golf Team Makes School History

For the first time in school history, the Tate High School Boys Golf Team has captured the district championship, marking a milestone achievement for the Aggies and a proud moment for the entire Tate community. With steady, composed play from all five golfers, the Aggies secured the top spot and punched their ticket to the regional tournament in Oviedo, Florida, on Monday, November 3. The victory stands as a testament to the program’s growth and the dedication of a group of athletes determined to make history. Leading the Aggies was Baylor Touchstone, who carded a team-best 72, demonstrating both precision and poise throughout the round. Jaxson Thomason followed closely with an impressive 73, delivering clutch shots that kept Tate in contention all day. Parker Hassell contributed a solid 79, while Ben Robinson and Jacob Drysdale each posted rounds of 82, rounding out a well-balanced team performance. Together, the Aggies displayed depth and consistency, two qualities that proved crucial in securing the district crown.

Vocabulary Parade at Warrington Elementary

Warrington Elementary hosted its Annual Vocabulary Parade on October 31, 2025. The students dressed up in costumes based on their vocabulary words. The older students walked around to let the younger students see their costumes, then the younger students walked to let the older students see theirs. Warrington Elementary School’s Parade Ambassador was Governor Williams from Sandy Sansing Chevrolet.

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for CLA’s new Middle School Building

Creative Learning Academy recently hosted a special Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to commemorate the completion of its new Middle School building. Although students have been learning in the new space since August, this occasion was CLA’s first opportunity to come together as a community to recognize everyone who helped make the new facility a reality. Parents, alumni, faculty, and friends gathered in the Middle School Courtyard on Friday, October 24, 2025, to celebrate this exciting new chapter for CLA.
During the ceremony, guests recognized the dedication and vision of CLA’s Board of Trustees, as well as the exceptional work of Green-Simmons, led by past parent and former CLA board member Nathan Green, and the architectural expertise of Caldwell and Associates, represented by Miller Caldwell and Michael Crawford. Our featured highlight of the afternoon came when second grader Serene Hakim proudly cut the ribbon to officially open the building, symbolizing CLA’s commitment to future generations of incoming students.
CLA’s Middle School Ensemble performed the musical number “Tomorrow" from Annie for the ceremony, as well as concluding the afternoon with the entire crowd joining together in singing the Creative Learning Academy Anthem. This Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be remembered as a cherished moment in the recent history of CLA.

CHS Student Council Reads to Partner Schools

Senior Student Council members and senior Ambassadors from Pensacola Catholic High School, along with Student Council Moderator, Mrs. Julie Remke, recently visited Oakcrest Elementary School and The Global Learning Academy to participate in their annual Halloween Reading event. Both elementary schools are Partners-in-Education schools with Catholic High School, and students from both schools interact throughout the academic year. One of the Ambassadors and Student Council’s favorite events is dressing up and reading to the students every Halloween. Students from both schools always have a great time.

Aletheia Christian Academy Second Grade Pioneer Week

Aletheia Christian Academy second graders spend the year reading chapter books and celebrating with themed days afterwards. Last month, they read “Little House in the Big Woods” and afterwards, travelled back in time by having a pioneer week. They washed clothes on washboards, baked bread, churned butter, and more. They dressed in pioneer clothes and wrapped up the week with lunch and square dancing with a live fiddler.

Aletheia Christian Academy Hosted an Outdoor Family Movie Night

Aletheia Christian Academy hosted an outdoor Family Movie Night on our soccer field. Families enjoyed lawn games, fellowship, and yummy concessions. sold by our student leaders who were raising money for their trip this summer. It was a memorable evening for our school community.

School Choice Expo at BTW High School

Hundreds of families attended the School Choice Expo at Booker T. Washington High School. Representatives from Choice programs throughout Escambia County Public Schools came out and impressed those in attendance with a spectacular array of educational programming for all ages. The 2026-2027 Open Enrollment window for High Schools and Middle Schools is now open and will be accepting applications until December 5.

CHS Art Students Place at Pensacola State Fair

Under the guidance of Art Teacher Farley Dodson, students from Pensacola Catholic High School have a rich tradition of entering their artwork into the Pensacola Interstate Fair Art contest each year. This year, Elizabeth Baroco, Ellie Nissim, and Isabella Castille Zamarron took first, second, and third place respectively for their submitted pieces. Congratulations, Crusaders, for being recognized for your beautiful artwork!

Pensacola High Celebrates David Knoblock

Pensacola High School would like to recognize David Knoblock for his outstanding achievement at the 2025 Incubate Debate Fall Championship, held October 13 and 14 at Jacksonville University. David made it to the semi-final round out of over 70 participants, while exhibiting rigor, grit, and dedication to debate and public speaking in his time with us over the weekend. He debated timely and timeless topics facing our country, and did so with poise, clarity, and respect. Being selected out of an applicant pool of nearly 500 students, with a 24% acceptance rate, David excelled in his participation and skill.
Congratulations to David for his accomplishments on behalf of his school and community.

MSP Volleyball Brings Home the Trophy!

Four years ago, Montessori School of Pensacola proudly established its sports program by joining the Catholic Youth Sports League. This year marks a milestone moment as our volleyball team brought home its second trophy, a testament to the hard work, perseverance, and dedication of our student-athletes and coaches. The trophy will be proudly displayed in our Middle School classroom, serving as a reminder of teamwork, growth, and school spirit.

PCHS Cross Country Help Alpha Center

Pensacola Catholic High School celebrated its annual Make a Difference Day (MADD) on a Saturday in September when its Cross Country Team had an early morning meet out of town. The team still wanted to participate in this special event, and the Alpha Center needed some Christmas presents wrapped in late October, so a special MADD project was created. Students from the Cross Country and Swim Teams helped the Alpha Center wrap over 100 gifts that will be given to expecting mothers as well as families who are being mentored by the Center.

Redeemer Lutheran Walks for Charity

Redeemer Lutheran School held their annual charity walk to raise money for Operation Christmas Child, a project run by Samaritan’s Purse. The goal was to bring happiness and hope to kids around the world with gift-filled shoeboxes for the holidays. Everyone who joined in enjoyed a fun, healthy activity while helping spread love and kindness globally. The event highlighted Redeemer Lutheran School’s generous spirit and commitment to spreading the love of Jesus through helping others.
