“We’re a family that loves adventure and making unforgettable memories together,” shared Lakesha Davis. “Traveling is a big part of our lives, and we have a bucket list full of places to explore.”
Lakesha and her husband Hammer married in 2014. Together they have seven children — Jayla Williams (21), who tragically passed away in 2024; Malachi Williams (18); Jebran Davis (11), Daylen Davis (9); Kylie Davis (7); McKinley Davis (5) and Karter Davis (2).
“If there’s one thing that truly brings us joy, it’s Disney! We’re a Disney-loving family through and through,” said Lakesha. “Orlando is one of our favorite destinations, and we’ve stayed in many of the surrounding cities, but nothing compares to the magic of Disney World. From park hopping between all four parks to experiencing our favorite rides and attractions, every trip is a dream come true.”
Lakesha went on to explain that family time is the most important time for her and Hammer. Whether they are enjoying the beach, watching movies, trying new restaurants, jamming music, playing games, or having fun outdoors, the family values their time together above anything else.
“This season of our lives has been incredibly difficult. Last April, we lost our oldest daughter, Jayla, to a fentanyl overdose at just 21 years old. Our entire world turned upside down,” Lakesha shared. “Despite the sorrow, we find joy in watching our children grow, learn, and embrace life. Family time has become even more sacred—every shared moment, every laugh, every experience carries deeper meaning.”

The family prioritizes dinner together nightly. They may decide to eat out on busy school nights, but Lakesha says that being at home in the kitchen is where the heart of their family lives.
“We enjoy making homemade pizzas, experimenting with new recipes, and finding creative ways to bring everyone into the kitchen,” Lakesha shared. “Dad takes the lead on cooking, but we often join in as a family, turning mealtime into a fun and memorable experience. As for dessert, that’s where I come in! I love to bake, and the kids always look forward to a homemade sweet treat after dinner.”
This Salmon Tuscan Pasta is a favorite meal for the family. Lakesha describes it as an elevated dish that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. She likes to serve it with a salad and garlic bread.
Salmon Tuscan Pasta
Ingredients:
For the Pasta:

- 12 oz pasta (fettuccine, penne, or rigatoni)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 individual salmon filets; or sub 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast or 1 lb shrimp
- ½ tsp each salt, black pepper, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes (optional for spice)
For the Sauce: - 2 tbsp butter
- ½ cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup chicken broth (or vegetable broth)
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
- ½ cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1 tbsp fresh basil, chopped (or 1 tsp dried)
Directions:
Step 1: Cook the Pasta: Boil a large pot of salted water. Add pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Step 2: Cook the Salmon: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the salmon with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Sauté for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and fully cooked. Remove from the pan and set aside.
Step 3: Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sun-dried tomatoes, sauté for 1-2 minutes. Pour in heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring to combine. Bring to a gentle simmer, then stir in Parmesan cheese until melted. Add spinach and cherry tomatoes, cooking for 2-3 minutes until wilted.
Step 4: Combine: Add the cooked pasta to the sauce, tossing to coat. Plate for each serving. Place a salmon on each serving. Garnish with basil, extra Parmesan, and red pepper flakes and/or bacon bits (if desired).
