The play revolves around the struggling monastery of Saint Foy, whose monks are desperate to attract pilgrims and funding. Facing financial ruin and a lack of miracles to draw visitors, the monks hatch a scheme to create their own miracle by stealing a corpse and passing it off as a holy relic.
